History
My name is Mark Byars and I am the owner and creator of Doodles Delights. During the shutdown period in 2020, I was looking to create a perfect Vegan and allergy friendly sweet treat for my family members that have severe food allergies. Byars Banana Bread was started, and I ended up donating or giving away all of the products to first responders, educators, and hospital staff due to the time period and needs. Today, Byars Banana Bread has evolved into Doodles Delights. I have added my homemade jams as a tribute to my mother who made them when I was a kid. The smell of the cooking strawberries is one of my fondest childhood memories. I cook with love, passion, and care.
Why Doodles Delights
Doodles Delights was named after my two Goldendoodles, Dood and Auggie. Most of my life I was unable to enjoy the love and companionship of dogs due to allergies. After the shutdown, we decided to try and get a goldendoodle as they are considered mostly hypoallergenic. After a couple of years with Dood, we got another one and named him Auggie. When I cook, the doodles sit in the adjoining rooms and persistently stare to see if I drop anything on the floor. They are ready to pounce at a moments notice, always keeping me on my toes. One other character you will see on the site is a hummingbird. Humby, the mascot for Byars Banana Bread, has made his return to Doodles Delights. the incredible banana bread on the menu, Hummingbread, was named after Humby.
